The International Society for Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods (ISNFF) is pleased to welcome you to the 7th International Conference and Exhibition on Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods, scheduled for October 14-17, 2014 at the Military Museum in Istanbul, Turkey.
The ISNFF was established in 2008 as a not-for-profit organization in response to widespread recognition of the role on natural health products, including functional foods, nutraceuticals as well as dietary supplements for health promotion and disease risk reduction. Over the past several years, the ISNFF has managed to bridge the existing gap among scientific community, health care professionals, industry and investors, as well as the public and consumers through its conferences, short courses, seminars, newsletters, and other publications. The previous conferences of ISNFF (Taichung-Taiwan, San Francisco-USA, Bali-Indonesia, Sapporo-Japan, Kona/Hawaii-USA, and Taipei-Taiwan) attracted some 410-705 participants from around the globe. The presentations have been from world renowned experts in the field, bringing to the audience state-of-the-art information and the latest developments in the field. Meanwhile, the Journal of Functional Foods (the official journal of ISNFF), published by Elsevier, is in its 5th year with an impact factor of 2.632 from the ISI. Moreover, the Society organizes short courses/seminars in hot topic areas either prior to the annual conferences or joint with other societies such as Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), American Chemical Society's (ACS) special meetings, and International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST). The ISNFF publishes several newsletters each year for communicating the latest information in the field to its members and the general public as well as those interested in the latest developments in this evergrowing area.

Turkey is surrounded by the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean to the west and the Mediterranean to the south. Two straits (the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles) form gates to the inner Marmara Sea, dividing Thrace - the European part, and Anatolia - the Asian part of the country. Turkey is truly the place where East and West meet. Click for More

Istanbul has two international airports: one on the European side (Ataturk Airport) and one on the Asian side (Sabiha Gokcen Airport). Both can be used but the closest one to the conference center is the Ataturk Airport.
Istanbul Ataturk International Airport is one of the biggest Airports in Turkey. Many Airlines have direct flights to Istanbul but you may have a connection to the Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Istanbul Ataturk International Airport (European side)
There is a direct public bus connection line “96 T” from Istanbul Atatürk Airport to the city centre. The journey from the airport to the central station takes about 50 minutes. The bus leaves Istanbul Ataturk Airport every 50 minutes.
Taxis are available at taxi stands or can be hailed directly on the street. In Turkey taxis are colored yellow and have meters.
There is an underground station at the airport and you can go to the city centre with 2 train changes.
Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (Asian side)
Located on the Anatolian shore of Istanbul at Pendik / Kurtkoy, at a distance 50 km to Taksim. It has a really convenient traffic in terms of transportation with its 1.5 km connection to the TEM motorway.
Taxi's ara available outside the terminal. Then it can be quite expensive if you intend travelling all the way to central İstanbul. Cars are available on request.
Public transportation (IETT) departs from Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) to central Istanbul. There are many ways to travel from Sabiha Gokcen Airport into the several main locations of Istanbul such as Sultanahmet, Taksim, Eminonu (Sirkeci), Beyazit (Laleli), Esenler, Harem, Bakirkoy, Yesilkoy, Tuzla, by taxi, Havas Services, or the public bus services (IETT).
Using a bus to get into Turkey is another option. This is good and cheap if you're planning to get into Turkey from a nearby country such as Bulgaria, Romania or Greece. For Greece - Turkey routes you can even book tickets online through Varan Tourism for Thessaloniki - Istanbul. If you're planning to do that from a farther European country then it may get quite tiring, although you can at times find such a service, especially from Germany or Austria.
From Asia, you can take buses from Georgia to Turkey in both Batumi and Tbilisi but service is irregular and one should inquire around. From Armenia one can go through Georgia by bus to Turkey. From Tabriz, Iran there are buses to Turkey. Most of the intercity and international buses arrive at İstanbul Esenler Otogar from Europe.
The major bus companies are ;
Ulusoy - www.ulusoy.com.tr
Varan - www.varan.com.tr
Metro - www.metroturizm.com.tr
Nilüfer - www.niluferturizm.com.tr
Kamil Koç - www.kamilkoc.com.tr
Most of the routes are link Greek locations - mostly islands - with close-by Turkish locations and, a bit farther, Italy with Turkey. There are several companies operating such lines. A lot of travel agencies operate several routes between Greek Islands and Turkey. One can search for ferry departures and make reservations as well. If you're looking for a ferry from Italy to Turkey or vice-versa as well as alternatives to Greek-Turkey ferries, you should look on Aegean Ferry Services. They have a good map showing all of their ferry routes. One of the most interesting is the ferry from Ancona to Çeşme. From Çeşme you can reach to Antalya by bus.
You can come to Antalya by car. But we don't advice you to use this way because of the road conditions and custom regulations. The participants from İstanbul, Greece, Croatia, Romania and Hungary may use this method.
General Route: London - Istanbul, approximately 3,000 km. Northern Route: Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. Southern Route: Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Italy to Turkey.
Istanbul: A world center of great value in the past as well as in the present, Istanbul embraces Asia on the one hand and Europe on the other. Istanbul, with its historical peninsula, numerous scenic and historical beauties is a magnificently unique city that has been capital to many civilizationscapital to many civilizations from past to present and still continues to be home to residents from all over the world. This rooted city, with a history dating back to 300 thousand years before, constitutes a mosaic of many civilizations and cultures combined.
One may come across legacies and monuments of thousands of years behind any door or around any corner in Istanbul. Whether you take a round tour in Istanbul or visit any of the 39 districts nearby, you will catch hold of various historical and natural wonders any minute. You may begin your Istanbul tour at the Grand Bazaar that will enchant you with its bright and pleasant environment while a sense of peace and security will wrap you tightly in Hagia Sophia. A tour of the pearl of the Bosporus, Ortaköy, will let you enjoy the delightful views along the deep blue coast.
With the Black Sea in the north, the Marmara Sea in the south and the Istanbul Strait running in all its glory through the middle of the city, you will experience great moments in Istanbul and witness the unique combination of the Mediterranean and Black Sea climates. You may encounter a hot and humid weather in the summer and a cold and snowy weather in the winter.
Watching the flying seagulls at Eminönü by the time the rising sun illuminates the city, you will notice the docked boats rocking gently as if to greet you. What’s more, you won’t be able to resist the fresh scent of the city when the first ray of lights illuminate the shimmering fishes swimming around the fishing twines.
The setting sun illuminates the city like a painting every evening. The candle- like silhouettes of the mosques rise above the historical peninsula to greet the city while the sun and the moon salute each other as the day turns into night. Right at that moment you will feel like a sultan in the cradle of civilizations.
Bridging two continents, this unique city, where one can encounter people from different countries and witness diverse cultures merging in harmony, will awaken completely different feelings in you.
There is a lot to experience and share in Istanbul. Are you ready to explore this magic city?
Turkey is a rapidly developing secular democracy with a population of nearly 70 million and is a candidate for membership of the European Union. It is the only country to straddle Europe and Asia, a fact that is reflected in its complex cultural make up. Asiatic Turkey, or Anatolia, constitutes the bulk of the country. It consists of a vast peninsula framed by four seas, the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean and the Mediterranean, each of which has its own distinctive character. Both in human and geographical terms, Turkey is a country of immense diversity. There are crowded cosmopolitan cities, such as Istanbul and Izmir, high plateau, forested mountains and Mediterranean beaches. The climate and ecology are equally varied, ranging from temperate rain forests on the eastern Black Sea Coast to semi-desert in the Southeast.
Turkey has more Classical ruins than any other country, but also boasts some of the world’s finest Islamic art and architecture. Whether your interests or those of your guests, extend to exploring archaeological sites, trekking, rafting, nightclubbing, or simply lazing on a beach, Turkey is for you. And you are assured of a warm welcome. Turkish hospitality is second to none and grows out of a long tradition. Much the same could be said of Turkish cuisine, to which Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans have all contributed. The results are as varied and enticing as the country itself. According to most experts, Turkish cuisine is the third most extensive cuisine in the world after Chinese and French. With so much on offer, there is no doubt that you will find something to suit your tastes and tempt your palate.
All participants are required a valid passport and may be required a visa for visiting Turkey. Please contact your nearest Turkish Embassy / Consulate for this purpose. Participants from those countries where there is no Turkish diplomatic representation office can obtain their visa at the airport on arrival to Turkey.

Most of the hotels, restaurants and shops accept major international credit cards.
